RE:FRESH sessions: Discounted swim for adults under the RE:FRESH Leisure Scheme. Anyone aged 16 years or over, who lives, works, has a GP or is in full time education in Blackburn with Darwen can access this session for £1.

Anyone aged under 16 years, who qualifies can access this session for FREE! as long they are accompanied with a qualifying adult.

Darwen Leisure Centre

The Boom pool will be closed on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July from 1.30pm-3pm for a Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, outdoor water safety event.  Please see timetable or ask at reception for further details.

The Main pool and Boom pool at Darwen Leisure Centre will be closed on the 31st July for routine maintenance.  The pools will reopen as normal on the 31st July at 4pm.

Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16-years-old at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:
– Jump / dive into deep water
– Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
– Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
– Tread water for 30 seconds
– Surface dive to the floor of the pool
– Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits
